Explore. Act. Reflect. Demonstrate.
Service-learning opens up the classroom walls. Together, students, teachers, and community partners create real-life learning while improving our community. Students bring their classroom learning into the community and their community learning back into the classroom. Here is how it works:
Explore: Set your learning goals, and plan how to achieve them through community action.
Act: Serve with community volunteer opportunities or projects that match the learning goals.
Reflect: Connect classroom and community learning through journals, discussions, art, papers, class presentations, and other kinds of reflection. Think about the meaning of your experience and explore your next steps.
Demonstrate: Show and celebrate what you have contributed and learned, through community presentations, letters to the editor, websites, pamphlets, and other demonstrations.
