When you welcome service-learning students to your agency, you not only gain their volunteer assistance, but you also have the opportunity to teach them about important community issues and the value of community engagement.
Through service-learning, community agencies become partners in the education of wise and compassionate community leaders.
Service-learning:
- Brings you energetic and creative volunteers who are motivated to serve and learn
- Teaches students about the issues your agency addresses
- Translates to energizing other volunteers through exploration and reflection
- Builds a network of valuable connections in the community
- Engages a new generation of volunteers for your organization and cause.
To be listed on our Community Opportunities page, contact us for our criteria for service-learning partnerships. Once you are listed, students who wish to do a service-learning project with your agency will usually contact you directly. Volunteer Connect does not pre-screen volunteers.
Find out students' learning goals, and try to match them with positions that will fit. If you cannot use their services, please encourage them to check for other opportunities on our list of Community Opportunities.
