Betsy Warriner

Before moving to Bend, Betsy was the Service-Learning Coordinator at Seattle University and at Portland Community College. She also managed volunteer referral and agency training for the Volunteer Center in Portland. She founded Volunteer Insights, a nonprofit service-learning center, which transitioned into Volunteer Connect. Betsy holds an MA in Teaching degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D in Guidance and Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.



Brendan Appleberry

Brendan, a volunteer fire fighter and EMT, is currently finishing his Paramedic degree at Central Oregon Community College and has extensive and varied volunteer and work experience. He owned a construction company, worked with many companies in their start-up phase, and has training in media and public relations. Brendan grew up in Ashland, OR and received a Bachelor of Sciences in Business and Administrative Studies from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys nordic, alpine, and telemark skiing, travel, hiking, live music, rafting, and dancing.



Jessica Knight

Jessica started at Volunteer Connect by serving as an AmeriCorps member for one year, working to engage community organizations as Volunteer Connect partners, matching volunteers with opportunities and organizing Day of Service events.. Previously, she worked with Volunteer Services at Mount Hood Medical Center and also Conference Services at the University of Puget Sound. Jessica grew up in Portland and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound in Classics. She brings an interest in international volunteerism and dearly misses playing lacrosse!

 


Volunteers

In addition to our staff, several valuable volunteers and interns help with our programs, fund-raising, and events. We welcome volunteers and interns to our team.
