Betsy Warriner
Executive Director
Before moving to Bend, Betsy was the Service-Learning Coordinator at Seattle University and at Portland Community College. She also managed volunteer referral and agency training for the Volunteer Center in Portland. She founded Volunteer Insights, a nonprofit service-learning center, which transitioned into Volunteer Connect. Betsy holds an MA in Teaching degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D in Guidance and Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Tia Sherry
Outreach Coordinator

Tia brings over 20 years of management experience in both the corporate and non-profit world, most recently leading non-profits in their capital campaigns, fundraising efforts, event planning, and stewardship of donors. Before moving to Bend, Tia worked as the Development Coordinator for Neighborhood House in Portland where she worked directly with building corporate sponsorships and community support.
Shellie Campbell
Events Coordinator
Shellie brings over 20 years of non-profit experience with her to Volunteer Connect. She has worked with the YMCA, National Safe Kids Organization and locally with the KIDS Center. Her passion is working with community partners to build a message and community events to create positive change. Shellie has lived in Bend for 10 years with her husband and 3 children. She loves Central Oregon and enjoys all that it has to offers from beautiful running and biking trails to great community events.
Paula Dorfman
AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer

Paula is an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, working under the Oregon Medical Reserve Corps. She recently moved from Maryland. She had a background in national service, with ten months as an AmeriCorps NCCC team member, working in a team on a number of projects including environmental rehabilitation, housing, education, and disaster relief. She has a BA in Psychology from Antioch College, where she had the chance, through the school's work-study program, to find her love of volunteering and the nonprofit field.
Brendan Appleberry
Remote Web Director

Brendan, a volunteer fire fighter and EMT, is currently finishing his Paramedic degree at Central Oregon Community College and has extensive and varied volunteer and work experience. He owned a construction company, worked with many companies in their start-up phase, and has training in media and public relations. Brendan grew up in Ashland, OR and received a Bachelor of Sciences in Business and Administrative Studies from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys nordic, alpine, and telemark skiing, travel, hiking, live music, rafting, and dancing.
